A valley resident since 1999, my husband and I moved to this beautiful desert paradise from the Kansas City area. We traveled to several countries before selling both homes, both cars, and then traveling in South America for 3 months - an adventure when we learned the language and realized other cultures really don't vary as much as we had previously perceived.  We still enjoy travel.  My husband can make the most fabulous dinners and I enjoy our ability to share common thoughts on what is most important to each of us as individuals.  I am proud of my midwestern values and practical views.  My life philosophy is voluntary simplicity and I look forward to my future life adventures.                           

I am occasionally asked how can I live in the desert year-round - in reference to the hot summer temperatures.  I admit that I miss the Fall Season of the Midwest.  However, I find the area "mini-seasons" here in the Coachella Valley to be quite enjoyable! For example, the hummingbird migration, and the robin migration is a delightfully entertaining experience.  The stores, streets, & other area services are less congested during the perceived intolerable summer months.  Do I appreciate our valley season, of course - but I also appreciate a year-round climate without icy roads and freezing temperatures.

I remember my mother buying and renting-out real estate when I was young - however my own personal interest was truly peaked during the year I worked the front desks for a local luxury brokerage in 2004.  Although Dyson & Dyson is no longer an active brokerage, sitting at those office desks was an invaluable experience, as I interacted with a high concentration of very successful real estate agents operating with professionalism and respect for one another.

I personally believe the only true paradise is peace within one's own mind.  However, I also find there are very few climate paradises here on Earth ... and I personally believe the Coachella Valley is one of them.  Home prices are affordable again.  Buy the dream home you find or someone else will.
